Sharon Hanson, Chair for Employment

Sharon holds a Senior Lectureship in Law at Canterbury Christ Church University in the Department of Law and Criminal Justice Studies where she is responsible for the Criminal Law and legal methods programmes. Until recently she was also Director of Research but stepped down to take research leave. She is interested in all aspects of legal education, and has written one of the cutting edge texts, now in its third edition. She is also the specialist advisor for legal methodology for the University of London external laws programme.

During the period 2004 – 2006 she was a commissioner on the Evangelical Alliance inquiry into Faith and Nation. In 2007 she was appointed to the Theology and Public Policy Committee of the Evangelical Alliance, and in May 2008 was elected a Council Member of the Evangelical Alliance. Currently she is researching in the area of human rights, discrimination law, anti terrorism legislation and religion, for a new scholarly text, Living Under Two Laws, commissioned by Taylor Francis, Cavendish – Glass House Press imprint for publication in summer 2010. She received her law degree from the London School of Economics, University of London, and her Masters Degree and Doctorate from Kings College, University of London.
