    Currently Chairman of University College Winchester and a director of a number of other commercial and not for profit organisations; he was formerly Gresham Professor of Commerce and the CEO of LIFFE, and Chairman of the Design and Artists Copyright Society.

  • Ali Kazimi (Subcommittee Chair: Finance & Accounting)

    Head of Operational and Investment Taxation at Ernst & Young. His professional experience in financial services spans over 15 years during which he has worked with leading financial institutions and professional advisory firms, including the last eight years as the Head of Taxation at Barclays Global Investors. He is a graduate chartered accountant, a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers and a member of the Securities & Investment Institute. He is interested in and teaches Akhlaq (Islamic Ethics) and has actively promoted scholarly research in Islamic intellectual sciences.

  • Avinash Persaud (Subcommittee Chair: Funding)

    Chairman of Intelligence Capital Limited, a financial advisor. He is a Governor of the London School of Economics, Director of the Global Association of Risk Professionals, a member of Council of the Royal Economic Society and of the Overseas Development Institute. Previously he has held senior management positions at State Street, J. P. Morgan & Co. and UBS and has been a Visiting Scholar at the IMF and ECB. Amongst many awards he has, uniquely, won both major international finance competitions: the IIF’s Jacques de Larosiere Award (First Prize, 2000) and the Amex Bank Award, (Bronze, 1994). He is frequently published in journals and the financial press.

  • Richard Susskind (Subcommittee Chair: Academic Affairs)

    An independent adviser to global professional firms and national governments. He is I.T. Adviser to the Lord Chief Justice and Chairman of the Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information, a non-departmental public body. He holds professorships at Gresham College, London and the Centre for Law, Computers and Technology at Strathclyde University. He is a law columnist at the Times and the author of five books on law and technology. He was awarded an OBE in the Millennium New Year’s Honours List for services to I.T. in the Law and to the Administration of Justice.

  • Hamid Yunis (Subcommittee Chair: Governance)

    an equity partner within the international law firm of Taylor Wessing. Prior to joining Taylor Wessing, Hamid was a partner at Andersen. He is a corporate lawyer with substantial experience in major projects and structured finance matters. Amongst other leadership positions, Hamid is also head of Taylor Wessing’s Islamic Finance group, which includes lawyers from a number of different religions.

  • Sharon Hanson (Subcommittee Chair: Employment)

    Holds a Senior Lectureship in Law at Canterbury Christ Church University in the Department for the Study of Crime and Policing, where she is responsible for the Criminal Law and advance social legal methods programmes. She is interested in all aspects of legal education, and has written one of the cutting edge texts. She is also the specialist advisor for legal methodology for the University of London external laws programme.
