Yasmeen Akhtar, Project Executive Officer
Yasmeen manages online content on the Campusalam Project, an innovative and resourceful tool for students of faith on campus.
Yasmeen graduated with a Law degree, and then completed a teaching practice certificate before achieving a Creative Writing qualification. She has published writing and research on Community Cohesion, in particular on women’s participation.
Yasmeen was the first Muslim female elected onto the UK Youth Parliament, subsequently went onto founding Luton Youth Together for Everyone (LYTE), a youth cabinet body influencing local Government. She worked in journalism including radio and television broadcast, and currently serves on the Management Board for Inspire FM.
